Job summary

Cianbro in Westborough, MA seeks a hands-on helper for machinery installation and repair in an industrial setting. You will assist with assembling, mounting, and aligning equipment according to plans, blueprints, and specifications, using a range of hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• Some construction experience preferred.
• Must understand blueprints and schematic drawings to determine procedures.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, hoists, jacks, squares, rules, scales, laser alignment, optical levels, plumb bobs.
• Experience with precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
• Good trouble shooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installing machinery and equipment according to general arrangement layouts, blueprints, specifications and drawings.
• Dismantle and repair machinery using hand tools and power tools.
• Move machinery using winches, jacks, hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
• Assemble and install machinery such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, and motors using hand and power tools.
• Construct foundations for machines and set base plates to line and level; install grout beneath.
• Assist with installing couplings and bearings (interference and slip-fit).

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with installing machinery and equipment according to general arrangement layout plans, blueprints, specifications, and other drawings in an industrial environment.
• Help to dismantle and repair machinery and equipment using hammers, wrenches, crowbar, and other hand tools.
• Assist in moving machinery and equipment using winches, jacks, hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
• Assist in assembling and installing machinery and equipment such as shafting, conveyors, pulpers, vats, agitators, tram rails, pumps, and motors using hand tools and power tools.
• Assist in constructing foundations for machines using hand tools and building materials, such as wood, cement, and steel.
• Sets base plates to line and level and installs grout beneath them.
• Assist with installing of couplings and bearings, both interference and slip-fit.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Some experience in a construction environment is preferred.
• Must have some understanding or experience with blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Must have some experience or knowledge of using hand tools, power tools, hoists, jacks, squares, rules, scales, laser alignment machines, optical levels, and plumb bobs.
• Must have some experience in using precision tools such as inside & outside micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
• Good trouble shooting skills.
