Job summary

Cianbro in Glens Falls, NY is seeking Craft Professionals to assist in installing machinery and equipment in an industrial environment, following general arrangement layouts, blueprints, and specifications.

Duties include dismantling and repairing machinery with hand and power tools, moving equipment with winches and hoists, assembling installations, constructing foundations, setting base plates, and installing couplings and bearings. Compensation ranges from $16.00 to $26.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Some experience in a construction environment is preferred.
• Must have some understanding or experience with blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Must have some experience or knowledge of using hand tools, power tools, hoists, jacks, squares, rules, lasers alignment machines, optical levels, and plumb bobs.
• Must have some experience in using precision tools such as inside & outside micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
• Good trouble shooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installing machinery and equipment according to general arrangement layout plans, blueprints, specifications, and other drawings in an industrial environment.

• Assist in moving machinery and equipment using winches, jacks, hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
• Assist in assembling and installing machinery and equipment such as shafting, conveyors, pulpers, vats, agitators, tram rails, pumps, and motors using hand tools and power tools.
• Assist in constructing foundations for machines using hand tools and building materials, such as wood, cement, and steel.
• Sets base plates to line and level and installs grout beneath them.
• Assist with installing of couplings and bearings, both interference and slip-fit.
