Job summary

Sundt Inc. is seeking a Millwright Foreman to lead and supervise mechanical equipment setting, installation, and maintenance for a wastewater treatment clarifier project. Must have rigging and crane signaling experience and pass a pre-employment drug test.

Millwright Foreman -
This position will be demoing and installing new Wastewater Treatment Clarifier; You must have rigging - crane signaling experience; and must pass pre-employment drug test. Rate is $40.00/hr.; Project is scheduled for 40+ hours per week. This position does NOT offer subsistence. Estimated duration is 1 year.

Basic Job Functions

Provide leadership, management, and supervision necessary for the planning, lay-out, and performance of all types of mechanical equipment setting, installation, alignment, and maintenance work in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. Plan and coordinate the efforts of all craft persons under his/her supervision and provide all resources needed for the work to be done safely, correctly, and efficiently. Work with other foreman or crews to ensure that the work is coordinated and sequenced to assure that the flow of work and the schedule is maintained.

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintain positive working relationships with other foreman and crews.
2. Maintain a safe and clean work environment and assure that high quality work is being performed always.
3. Conduct and/or participate in all safety, quality, production, and planning meetings.
4. Assure all crew members evaluations/performance agreements are conducted.
5. Champion and promote a Continuous Improvement culture with all members of the crew.
6. Assure the accuracy of all time sheets, quantity, and productivity reports.
7. Develop one-week and daily work plans, provide feedback on the 6-week schedule and know the critical path.
8. Establish weekly production goals for the crew and execute the work on time & under budget.
9. Adhere to and support all company policies, procedures and “The Sundt Way” regarding the work and people you supervise.
10. Provides appropriate coaching and mentoring for crew members to help them be the best they can be.

Minimum Job Requirements

1. Must have a minimum of four years’ experience in the relevant construction market and an in-depth understanding of the trade you are supervising.
2. Must set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality, and productivity for the members of his/her crew.
3. Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements

1. Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
2. Will occasionally climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
3. Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50lbs. on an occasional basis
4. Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
5. Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
6. May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
7. May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
8. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
9. Will interact with people frequently during a shift/workday
10. May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
