Job summary

IMI Industrial Services Group is seeking a full-time Millwright Foreman local to Augusta, GA. This role leads a team responsible for laying out, fabricating, aligning, joining, installing, repairing, and welding materials on industrial projects.

The candidate should have 3+ years of experience and prefer NCCER or AWS certification or related technical training. Candidates must be able to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience.
• NCCER or AWS certification, or completion of a related program through an accredited technical school is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervise staff in laying out, fabricating, aligning, joining, installing, repairing, and welding materials.
• Apply basic math arithmetic skills to work-related situations.
• Serve as a liaison between customers, vendors, project managers, and other employees regarding current and future projects.
• Assist workers in their performance of duties and inspect the quality of all work.
• Analyze and resolve work-related problems.
• Review materials received at the jobsite for accuracy and check equipment for proper working conditions.
• Maintain time and track production; communicate if schedules or crew needs to be adjusted to meet deadlines.
• Install, repair, and maintain machinery and equipment per plans and drawings using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools.
• Assemble and install equipment such as shafting, conveyors, gearboxes, and pumps.
• Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.

Essential Functions

• Provide leadership, functioning as the Quality Lead, to supervise and coordinate the activities of staff engaged in laying out, fabricating, aligning, joining, installing, repairing, and welding materials.
• Apply basic math arithmetic skills to work‑related situations.
• Serve as a liaison between customers, vendors, project managers, and other employees regarding current and future projects.
• Assist workers in their performance of all assigned duties and inspect the quality of all work.
• Analyze and resolve work‑related problems.
• Review materials received at the jobsite for accuracy and check equipment for proper working conditions.
• Maintain time and track production; communicate if work schedules or crew needs to be adjusted to meet deadlines.
• Install, repair, and maintain machinery and equipment according to construction plans, blueprints, and other drawings in industrial establishments, using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools.
• Assemble and install equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, gearboxes, and pumps.
• Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.

Education and Experience

• 3+ years’ experience.
• NCCER or AWS certification, or completion of a related program through an accredited technical school is preferred.

Work Environment / Physical Demands

• Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, twist, and bend for extended periods of time.
• Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects.
• Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance.
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, including times of inclement weather.
• Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work.
• Must be highly safety conscious and have the ability to see and escape from dangerous situations.
• Ability to climb a ladder and step into various pieces of equipment.
