Job summary

Rise Baking Company is seeking a maintenance technician to support our plant equipment and building maintenance. The role focuses on troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with food safety policies and OSHA regulations.

The position requires a 2-year degree in electronics/maintenance mechanics or 3+ years in a maintenance role, with knowledge of CMMS and lockout/tagout.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree in electronics/maintenance mechanics or 3+ years in maintenance mechanic role.
• Experience with repair or preventive maintenance in hydraulics, pneumatics, machine shop, electricity, or electronics.
• Working knowledge of CMMS and lockout/tagout programs.
• Working knowledge of boiler operations and welding (stick/TIG).
• Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems with plant equipment (e.g., drive systems, HVAC, hydraulics).
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems (e.g., wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, transformers, motors).
• Perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment and building systems.
• Report food safety and quality issues to appropriate personnel.
• Adhere to food safety requirements and company policies.
• Work 3rd shift: Sun-Thu, 10pm-6:30am; $2 shift differential.

Job Purpose

Support the company's maintenance program by focusing on plant equipment and building maintenance in a manner that meets and complies with all food safety policies and OSHA regulations.

Essential Functions

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems with plant equipment (e.g., mechanical drive systems, HVAC, hydraulic and pneumatic systems)
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems with plant equipment (e.g., wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, electrical installations, transformers, motors, and AC/DC motor drives)
• Perform preventive maintenance on all plant equipment
• Perform building maintenance and repairs (e.g., air conditioning, lights, forklifts)
• Perform small repairs on equipment to prevent long-term downtime until permanent repairs can be completedReport food safety and quality issues to appropriate personnel
• Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)

• 2-year degree in electronics/maintenance mechanics or 3+ years in maintenance mechanic role
• Experience with repair or preventive maintenance in hydraulics, pneumatics, machine shop, electricity, or electronics
• Working knowledge of CMMS
• Working knowledge of lockout/tagout programs
• Working knowledge of boiler operations
• Ability to stick or tig weld small repairs
• Intermediate computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office
• Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts to identify solutions
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Schedule is 3rd shift: Sunday - Thursday; 10pm-6:30am + $2.00 shift differential

The hourly range for this role is $30.00 to $37.00 per hour. Pay is based upon several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc.
