Barton Mines Company is hiring a full-time Millwright for our North Creek, NY operation. Founded in 1878, Barton Mines Company is a family-owned producer of garnet abrasives used worldwide.

This role supports a safety-focused Adirondack operation and offers a comprehensive benefits package. The position requires industrial maintenance experience, welding skills, and NY state certification, with a Monday–Friday schedule and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on maintenance skills.
• Five years of industrial machine maintenance, repair, and fabrication experience in manufacturing.
• Two years of professional welding experience.
• Vocational or technical training in a skilled trades field.
• New York State Plant Maintenance Mechanic Certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced mechanical maintenance, repair, fabrication, and installation of industrial equipment.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to safely install, align, and secure machinery.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and support reliable production through preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Use welding, fabrication, rigging, and mechanical skills to complete repairs and equipment improvements.
• Follow safety procedures, use required PPE, and work cooperatively with operations and maintenance team members.
