Job summary

Stellantis Financial Services seeks a skilled Millwright to install, assemble, and dismantle machinery, conveyors, and control systems. You will move equipment to precise locations using forklifts or hoists while following layouts and engineering drawings.

The role requires reading blueprints, welding knowledge, and experience in a manufacturing setting. You will use precision measuring devices to maintain tight tolerances and support large projects with incidental tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 4+ years combined experience or completion of bona fide millwright apprenticeship.
• Ability to work any shift and OT incl. weekends/holidays.
• Experience as a millwright in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read layout plans/blueprints and follow specifications.
• Ability to dismantle machines with common hand tools; welding knowledge.
• Move machinery using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks; operate power tools.
• Microsoft Office knowledge.

Job description

The Millwright is responsible for installing, assembling, and, when necessary, dismantling machinery, conveyor systems, pulleys, mechanical clutches, gear boxes, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems. The Millwright will transport and locate machines and equipment to the desired location according to floor plans, or as directed using fork lifts, hoists, winches, cranes and other equipment. Assemble machines or equipment from their component parts. The Millwright must understand how a machine functions to assemble and disassemble it properly. This may involve knowledge of electronics, pneumatics, and computer systems. The Millwright will use complex instruction books that detail the assembly of the machinery and use tools such as levels, welding machines, and hydraulic torque wrenches. The Millwright will also use micrometers and other precision measuring devices to achieve the extreme tolerances required. On large projects, the use of cranes is common. Work requires practical skill and knowledge and journey-level skill as a millwright. Candidate must also be able to perform incidental tasks as required to complete the larger task.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Minimum of 4 years of combined experience and training similar to that required in a bona fide apprenticeship program as a Millwright; or a U.S. Department of Labor Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate as a Millwright; or eight (8) years of documented Millwright experience; or five (5) years of documented Millwright experience and three (3) years in a related trade
• Ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to work any shift and work overtime, including daily, weekends and holidays as required
• Experience as a millwright in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to work from layout plans, blueprints, drawings or other specifications to determine work procedures
• Ability and knowledge to dismantle machines, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand tools
• Ability and knowledge in welding including arc, acetylene and hydrogen
• Ability to properly move machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks
• Ability and knowledge to properly use tools and equipment such as drill presses, power saws, chain falls, jacks, skids, slings, burning torches, and other types of portable and hand tools
• Ability to clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery
• Perform incidental tasks as required to complete the larger task
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to provide mechanical support to manufacturing operations to locate and diagnose trouble in mechanical systems or equipment
• Ability to complete required preventive maintenance at defined intervals on all mechanical equipment
• Ability to perform tasks historically assigned to other mechanical classifications (i.e., pipefitter, machine repair) and other duties as required to meet the needs of the department and company
• Strong computer skills
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems
• Knowledge of G-Suite
