Job summary

Hecla Mining Co. is seeking a Millwright to troubleshoot, diagnose, modify, fabricate and repair mill equipment including SAG mills, ball mills, conveyors, pumps, and piping systems.

The role requires reading and interpreting instructions, maintaining and repairing milling equipment, performing occasional welding, generating work orders, and collaborating with a team while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year experience maintaining and repairing milling equipment.
• Strong oral and written communication and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Must be willing to comply with all company policies and procedures, especially with regard to Safety, Human Resources, and Environmental.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required. Employees must have sufficient education to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records. Minimum one year experience in maintaining and repairing milling equipment, pumps, conveyors, and heavy construction equipment.

TRAINING OR SPECIAL SKILLS

Strong oral and written communication and problem solving skills.

Ability to work with others in a team environment.

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
