Job summary

Worley is seeking an experienced industrial construction/maintenance professional for on-site installation and alignment of machinery in a role supporting energy, chemicals and resources projects. You will read blueprints, install equipment, align components and ensure foundations are solid and compliant.

The position involves handling heavy tools and machinery, performing preventive maintenance, and adhering to safety standards on site in Louisiana.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years industrial construction/maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of reverse alignment, different metals, bearings, seals, pumps, gearboxes and turbines.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics to determine work procedures.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets blueprints, layout plans, manuals to determine work procedures.
• Disassembles machines using hand tools.
• Moves machinery using hoists, dollies, rollers.
• Assembles and installs equipment using cranes and tools.
• Constructs machine foundations with wood, cement and steel.
• Aligns machines using hoists, jacks and measuring tools.
• Knowledge of optical and laser alignments.
• Bolts, welds or fastens machines to foundations.
• Operates engine lathe to machine parts.
• Installs robot and modifies its program.
• Uses transit and level for equipment setting.
• Loads, transports and unloads materials.
• Performs lubricating maintenance and cleaning.

Position Summary

• Installs machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints and other drawings in establishments.

Primary Responsibilities

Reads and interprets blueprints, layout plans, vendor installation and operation manuals, and other schematic drawings to determine work procedures.

Dismantles machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand tools.

Moves machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks.

Assembles and installs equipment, such as shaffing, conveyors and tram rails, using cranes, hand tools and power tools.

Constructs foundation for machines using hand tools and building materials, such as wood, cement and steel.

Aligns machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers and plumb bobs.

Must have knowledge of optical and laser alignments.

Assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures using hand tools and power tools.

May operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.

May install robot and modify its program using teach pendant.

May use transit and level for equipment setting.

Loads, transports and unloads materials, tools, equipment and supplies.

Performs lubricating maintenance, cleaning activities, or repair of tools, machines, and equipment.

Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules.

• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum 4 years industrial construction/maintenance industry experience

Knowledge of reverse alignment (where required), different types of metals, different types of bearings, mechanical seals, tandem seals, compression packing, multi-stage pumps, vertical pumps, different types of drive coupling, cooling tower fan units, gearboxes and agitators, gas turbines (where applicable) steam turbines, centrifugal compressor, reciprocal compressor, machine shop equipment, hydraulic reading and IRD reading
