Job summary

TRU LAND Equipment is seeking a on-site welding/fabrication technician to install grain handling equipment, including grain legs, dryers, and blowers. You will fabricate, weld, and repair while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining safety standards.

Qualified candidates have 2+ years welding/ fabrication experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and possibly an associate’s degree in agriculture or welding/fabrication. Lifting 75 pounds and driving requirements apply.

  • Welding and fabrication experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Install and build new grain handling equipment and perform welding/fabrication tasks.
  • Provide exceptional customer service on-site and by phone.
  • Follow safety measures and maintain a clean, professional work site.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and team to achieve goals.
  • Timely posting of times and parts for jobs.

Purpose:

Installs new grain handling equipment, including grain legs, grain dryers and blower systems. Duties will often include metal fabrication and welding, as well as repairing used equipment when necessary, and always providing exceptional support to remedy customer needs in a timely and respectful manner.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent customer service to customers on the job and on the phone.
  • Actively engaged and knowledgeable with grain equipment and customer needs.
  • Provide recommendations to help customers make the best decisions for their needs.
  • Communicate, enforce & participate in safety measures and procedures at all times.
  • Timely and accurately post times and parts for jobs.
  • Maintain good customer relations and treat everyone with respect.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Build and install new grain handling equipment.
  • Use specialized hand tools including welding, torching and grinding equipment.
  • Work with cranes in a safe and concise manner.
  • Work with subcontractors, often at the same location, and communicate together to achieve the common goals.
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
  • Other appropriate responsibilities as assigned by manager.
Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge:
  • High School diploma or equivalent experience; Associate’s degree in an Agriculture field or metal welding/fabrication preferred
  • 2+ years of welding, fabricating, assembly, and repair service experience
  • Welding & fabrication experience
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds repeatedly.
  • Adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities required.
  • Driving record that meets Employer’s insurance company requirements
