Job summary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years maintenance/repair of industrial equipment preferred.
  • Adherence to strict safety guidelines and awareness of safety risks.
  • Mechanical aptitude with wrenches, hammers, forklifts, and similar tools.
  • Ability to read specifications, manuals, and blueprints.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Team player with cross-department collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, test, and ensure machines operate correctly.
  • Follow OSHA safety regulations and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  • Layout and position equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Identify and repair machine issues; perform PM and lubrication.
  • Operate forklifts and move parts as needed.
  • Read machine schematics and manuals with minimal guidance.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs; maintain organization of parts and tools.

Job description

Job Summary

Millwright maintains, repairs, and installs equipment, machinery, and facilities under direct supervision. Maintains a variety of records; participates in special projects; and performs a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assembling and installing machines then testing them to make sure they are working correctly
  • Must work in full compliance with the approved safety regulations
  • Managing the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime
  • Identifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts
  • Dismantling older machines and replacing them with new ones
  • Overseeing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn out pieces and lubricating mechanical parts
  • Using machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts
  • This position performs routine tasks and duties including performing scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) assigned by a supervisor
  • Inspects, repairs, and maintains mechanical equipment and machinery using a variety of tools
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements as they pertain to daily activities
  • Practices safety awareness in all actions, including machine operation and lock-out/tag-out procedures for all responsibilities
  • Shares information with the supervisor and other team members in a manner that is understandable
  • Possesses strong troubleshooting skills
  • General knowledge of tools both hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to provide personal tools as required
  • Must be able to read and understand basic machine schematics with little guidance
  • Highly organized with an emphasis on detail
  • Organize parts and materials in the proper locations
  • Lift, move, push, pull, carry and manipulate large and small materials weighing up to 20lbs frequently and up to 50lbs unaccompanied
  • Display a positive team player approach supporting management objectives
  • Able to follow directions well
  • Display the willingness to learn
  • Ability to work with other departments to ensure overall success
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School graduate or GED required
  • 1-2 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment is desirable
  • Good at adhering to strict safety guidelines and cognizant of safety risks
  • Mechanical aptitude in dealing with wrenches, hammers, forklifts, and other similar tools
  • Working knowledge of mechanical technical skills to allow them to effectively read documents such as specifications, machine manuals, and blueprints
  • Proficient in troubleshooting techniques to solve machine issues
  • Excellent mathematical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to be a team player due to constant interactions with similar employees and stakeholders such as Engineers, Plant Managers, and Part Vendors, amongst others
  • Must possess a valid state driver\'s license
  • Must have the ability to use the following equipment in a safe and effective manner: hydraulic equipment, pneumatic equipment, presses, cordless drills, clamps, and other misc small tools
  • Willing to learn how to properly use a variety of measuring equipment to a high level of accuracy of 0.001" to diagnose wear or damage in machine parts; such as digital and dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, levels, angle and depth gages, etc
  • Familiarity with related hand tools and troubleshooting equipment

Hourly pay range $30-$40/hr
