Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc in New Windsor, MD is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I to perform basic preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and tools, and to assist other members of the Maintenance Department in various machine and building repairs.

You will conduct regular preventive maintenance, assist in repairs of woodworking machinery, order supplies, maintain records, and participate in safety and other programs; candidates should have at least 1 year of maintenance experience and a high

  • Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, control tech, and welding.
  • Knowledge of safe equipment practices and applicable laws/regs.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic I is responsible for performing basic preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and tools, and assists other members of the Maintenance Department in various machine/building repairs.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs regular, preventative maintenance on all machinery, equipment, tools, and building
  • Assists in the repair of woodworking machinery, infeed/outfeed systems, hand tools, and forklifts in accordance with diagrams, operating manuals, and manufacturer specifications
  • Orders supplies and parts as required
  • Performs preventive maintenance as scheduled
  • Maintains records of repair and maintenance activities
  • Performs duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area
  • Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings
  • If assigned to Treating Department, performs duties consistent with hazardous waste and hazardous material handling procedures and practices
  • Prepares various reports as required
  • Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in machine repair in maintenance
  • Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and control technology, and welding
  • Working knowledge of safe equipment practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulations
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of hazardous waste and hazardous material handling procedures and practices
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
Compensation & Benefit Information

Hourly Pay Range: $18-24/hr

Bonus

A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
