Job summary

Harlequin Design invites applications from skilled millworkers to join our Farmingdale factory team. You will interpret technical drawings and fabricate high-quality displays and pop-up spaces using MDF, plywood, laminate, and veneers.

We value accuracy under tight deadlines and offer a structured 8:00–4:30 schedule, with overtime during busy periods and occasional overnight work. Join a collaborative environment where craftsmanship and problem-solving matter.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of millwork experience.
• Experience in fast-paced interdisciplinary fabrication.
• Experience in retail display is advantageous.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Interpret technical drawings to craft displays and pop-up spaces using MDF, plywood, laminate and veneers.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with precision and attention to detail.
• Demonstrate creative problem-solving for project complexities and tight deadlines.
• Ensure all completed work aligns with our quality standards and deadlines.
• Communicate quality issues or lead time challenges to management for swift solutions.
• Additional hours may be required during busy periods and occasional overnight installations.

Candidate Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of millwork experience.
• Experience in fast paced interdisciplinary fabrication is plus.
• Experience in retail display is advantageous.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional organization skills.

Main Responsibilities:

• Collaborate both independently and as part of a team, interpreting technical drawings to craft high-quality displays and pop-up spaces using materials such as MDF, plywood, laminate, and veneers.
• Work within a fast-paced environment, ensuring precision and attention to detail.
• Demonstrate creative problem-solving abilities, essential for meeting project complexities and tight deadlines.
• Ensure all completed work aligns with our company's exacting quality standards and deadlines.
• Quickly communicate any quality issues or project lead time challenges to management, allowing for swift solutions and issue resolution.
• Additional hours available during busy periods.
• Open to occasional overnight installation work is a plus.
• Tackle challenges with a problem-solving mindset.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent:

• Location: Farmingdale NY - Factory
• Basic Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Monday - Friday (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM during busy periods, with overtime paid at x1.5)
• 30-minute lunch break
• 15 days holiday per year
• Air-conditioned/heated factory
• On-site parking
• Salary: $20 - $35 per hour based on experience
