D. Reis Furniture in Mineola, NY is seeking an experienced Millwork Senior Estimator to join our on-site team. The role focuses on producing proposals for qualified millwork projects within a growing company.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in high-end residential estimating, with millwork experience, strong drawing interpretation, and proficient use of Excel, MS Project and Bluebeam. AutoCAD experience is a plus, and a related bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review bid documents to understand project scope and requirements.
• Interact with Contractors/Architect/Designer/Owner Rep during bid process; generate RFIs.
• Coordinate with proposed subcontractors; prepare in-house scope of work and cost estimates.
• Prepare RFIs and Requests for Proposals for subcontractors.
• Outline project schedule and qualify subcontractor bids against in-house estimates.
• Maintain subcontractor database and historical cost data.
• Participate in project hand-off meetings and coordinate with the Project Team.
• Maintain bid documents log and archiving.

We are seeking an experienced, on-site Millwork Senior Estimator will join our growing team based in our Mineola, New York (Nassau County). This position offers substantial growth opportunities within our growing business. The Estimator is responsible for the production of proposals for qualified projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Review the bid documents to establish a thorough understanding of the project scope and requirements
• Interact with Contractors/Architect/Designer/Owner Rep throughout bid process and generate RFI’s
• Interact with proposed subcontractors throughout bid process
• Prepares in-house scope of work and cost estimates for all millwork related items
• Prepares Request for Proposals for subcontractors on Company bid list
• Prepares outline of project schedule
• Qualify subcontractor bids and reconcile with in-house estimate
• Review and confirm that subcontractor bids include the complete scope of work
• Assists with maintenance of Company subcontractor database and historical cost database
• Participates in project hand-off meeting and coordinates with Project Team;
• Assists with maintenance of bid documents log and archive;

Qualifications:

• 10+ years in high-end residential estimating experience millwork experience a must
• Proficient in understanding architectural drawings required
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (advanced knowledge of Excel and MS project as well as plan reading software such as Bluebeam
• Attention to detail, excellent interpersonal, written, mathematical and verbal communication skills
• AutoCAD experience
• Strong Business Devlopment and sales driven acumen
• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction, Architecture or Engineering preferred.
• Drafting experience and knowledge a plus.
