Job summary

Vasile Elevator, Inc in South Florida is seeking an experienced Millwork Technician to fabricate and assemble elevator interiors. The role requires reading shop release drawings and work orders, and to work safely with metal, glass, resins and laminates in a manufacturing setting.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of millwork experience, strong math and problem-solving abilities, and fluent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Fabricates and assembles elevator ceiling and wall components from drawings and directives.
• Safely handles materials including metal, glass, resins and laminates.
• Operates and maintains wood-working machines and tools (table saw, edge-bander, etc.).
• Keeps shop area clean, organized and free of hazards.
• Manages storage of raw materials, WIP and finished items and communicates inventory needs.

Job description

Professional, groomed applicants with a minimum 2 - 3 years Millwork experience in a manufacturing environment ONLY need apply.

Responsibilities/Functions

• Fabricates and assembles elevator ceiling and wall components from provided drawings, sketches and verbal directives.
• Proficiently and safely handles various finished materials including metal, glass, resins and laminates.
• Operates and maintains general wood working machines and tools, such as table saw, arbor saw, edge-bander, chop saws, handheld router, glue gun, drills, sanding and grinding equipment,
• Ensures that the shop area is kept clean, organized, and free of dangerous or hazardous material.
• Communicates inventory needs to appropriate team members and assists with managing and maintaining storage of raw materials, work in progress and finished items.

Skills & Experience

• Must be able to read and interpret SHOP RELEASE Drawings and Work Orders and apply fabrication techniques accordingly.
• Must possess a knowledge of millwork industry and material fabrication techniques.
• Must be able to work well both with a team and independently.
• Must exhibit proficient and clear interpersonal & communication skills in English.
• Must have strong math, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Must demonstrate awareness and concern for all health and safety protocols.
• Must be capable of remaining calm and clear-headed in an emergency.

Additional Information

Hours

• Overtime hours may be required based upon project volume.
• $23 - $30 per hour commensurate with experience & education
• Medical benefits available after 60 days
• 3 weeks paid vacation per year, accrued bi-weekly
• 5 paid holidays per year

Compensation: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
