Job summary

Schwieters Companies is hiring a highly motivated full-time Millwork Estimator to join our team in Hugo, MN. The role focuses on estimating residential and some commercial projects, reading blueprints, obtaining vendor pricing, and using On-Screen Takeoff to prepare detailed estimates.

You will collaborate with Sales/Project Managers and other estimators, communicate with architects and subcontractors, and manage multiple projects with a strong emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the construction industry and the ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
• Experience in estimating millwork products or similar is preferred.
• Proficiency with design software such as 20/20, Revit, or AutoCAD is a plus.
• Comfort with Office 365 and Excel for reporting and data analysis.
• Strong math, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare labor and/or material estimates of products.
• Obtain pricing from vendors and include costs in customer estimates.
• Use On-Screen Takeoff to generate quantities and detailed estimates for Prefinish, Millwork and Finish Carpentry.
• Perform field visits, record measurements, and verify alignment with proposals and on-site conditions.
• Collaborate with Sales/Project Manager and Estimators to review proposals.
• Communicate with project managers, jobsite supervisors, finish carpenters, architects/designers, and subcontractors as needed.
• Organize and maintain project information for multiple projects concurrently.

Schwieters Companies is hiring a highly motivated full-time Millwork Estimator to join our team to estimate projects generally in the residential division, and in some commercial.

Job Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare labor and/or material estimates of products
• Obtain pricing from various vendors and include those costs in estimates provided to customers
• Use On-Screen Takeoff software to generate quantities and complete detailed estimates for Prefinish, Millwork and Finish Carpentry
• Perform field visits and verifications, record measurements, and review for possible issues with current proposal vs. on-site conditions
• Work directly with an assigned Sales/Project Manager to produce proposals to potential customers, along with a team of Estimators to review each other's work
• Communicate with project managers, jobsite supervisors, finish carpenters, architects/designers, and other subcontractors as needed
• Organize and maintain project information through the duration of a project, with the ability to handle multiple projects at a time
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the construction industry and the ability to carefully read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
• Previous estimating experience or millwork product knowledge preferred
• Experience with design software, such as 20/20, Revit, or AutoCAD is a plus
• Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications including Office 365, specifically Excel
• Analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work
• Must have a strong work ethic and willingness to work extra hours when needed
• Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments
• Excellent mathematical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated, and ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines
• Excellent written communication, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver's license

WORK SCHEDULE

• Monday-Friday, (7am-4pm, 1 hour lunch)
• Possible hybrid/remote work available 2 days a week after training is complete

Compensation

• $21-$25 per hour depending on qualifications/experience
