Job summary

Schwieters Companies is seeking a full-time Millwork Estimator to join our team in Hugo, MN, estimating residential and some commercial millwork projects. The role involves analyzing drawings, obtaining vendor pricing, and generating detailed takeoffs using On-Screen Takeoff.

The ideal candidate has experience in estimating or millwork knowledge, proficiency with software like 20/20, Revit, or AutoCAD, and strong Excel skills. Local candidates preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the construction industry and ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
• Experience with millwork estimating or related products preferred.
• Experience with design software such as 20/20, Revit, or AutoCAD is a plus.
• Proficiency with Office 365, especially Excel.
• Analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports and problem solving.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to work extra hours when needed.
• Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals and other documents to prepare labor and/or material estimates.
• Obtain pricing from vendors and include costs in estimates given to customers.
• Use On-Screen Takeoff software to generate quantities and detailed estimates for Prefinish, Millwork and Finish Carpentry.
• Perform field visits and verifications, record measurements, and review for proposal vs. on-site conditions.
• Collaborate with Sales/Project Manager and team of estimators to prepare proposals for customers.
• Communicate with project managers, jobsite supervisors, finish carpenters, architects/designers, and subcontractors as needed.
• Organize and maintain project information across multiple projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Schwieters Companies is hiring a highly motivated full-time Millwork Estimator to join our team to estimate projects generally in the residential division, and in some commercial.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare labor and/or material estimates of products
• Obtain pricing from various vendors and include those costs in estimates provided to customers
• Use On‑Screen Takeoff software to generate quantities and complete detailed estimates for Prefinish, Millwork and Finish Carpentry
• Perform field visits and verifications, record measurements, and review for possible issues with current proposal vs. on‑site conditions
• Work directly with an assigned Sales/Project Manager to produce proposals to potential customers, along with a team of Estimators to review each other's work
• Communicate with project managers, jobsite supervisors, finish carpenters, architects/designers, and other subcontractors as needed
• Organize and maintain project information through the duration of a project, with the ability to handle multiple projects at a time
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of the construction industry and the ability to carefully read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
• Previous estimating experience or millwork product knowledge preferred
• Experience with design software, such as 20/20, Revit, or AutoCAD is a plus
• Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications including Office 365, specifically Excel
• Analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work
• Must have a strong work ethic and willingness to work extra hours when needed
• Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments
• Excellent mathematical aptitude and problem‑solving skills
• Self‑motivated, and ability to multi‑task while meeting deadlines
• Excellent written communication, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver's license

WORK SCHEDULE

• Monday-Friday, (7am-4pm, 1 hour lunch)
• Possible hybrid/remote work available 2 days a week after training is complete

COMPENSATION

• $21-$25 per hour depending on qualifications/experience
