Job summary

Clark’s Lumber & Millwork, Inc. in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking an experienced CNC Millwork Programmer to support our growing manufacturing operation. You will program CNC equipment for millwork and cabinetry, read shop drawings, and optimize toolpaths to maximize material yield.

Collaborate with Engineering and Production to resolve manufacturing issues, improve efficiency, and ensure machining quality. This role offers a hands-on, shop-floor environment with room to contribute and grow.

Qualifications

• Experience programming CNC equipment for millwork or cabinetry.
• Ability to read shop drawings and technical drawings.
• Hands-on CNC machining or machine operation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and optimize CNC programs and toolpaths from shop drawings and CAD files.
• Develop nesting layouts to maximize material yield and reduce waste.
• Select appropriate tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining strategies.
• Troubleshoot programming and machining issues with production staff.
• Improve CNC efficiency, accuracy, and overall machining quality.

Clark’s Lumber & Millwork, Inc. (CLM) is a fast-growing commercial architectural millwork manufacturer and recognized Inc. 5000 company based in Fredericksburg, VA. We’re seeking an experienced CNC Millwork Programmer to support our expanding manufacturing operation.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience programming CNC equipment for millwork, cabinetry, or a similar manufacturing environment and understands how programming decisions affect production on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Create and optimize CNC programs and toolpaths from shop drawings and CAD files.
• Develop nesting layouts to maximize material yield and reduce waste.
• Select appropriate tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining strategies.
• Troubleshoot programming and machining issues with production staff.
• Improve CNC efficiency, accuracy, and overall machining quality.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production to resolve manufacturing issues.

Qualifications

• CNC programming experience in millwork, cabinetry, woodworking, or manufacturing.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software such as Microvellum, Alphacam, WoodWOP, Router-CIM, or similar.
• Knowledge of CNC routers, tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining processes.
• Ability to read shop drawings and technical drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Hands-on CNC machining or machine operation experience preferred.
