Job summary

Crawford Thomas Recruiting is assisting a growing aerospace manufacturer in finding three full-time CNC Milling Machinists for their Winsted, CT facility. You will manufacture precision aerospace components using advanced CNC milling equipment, with emphasis on quality, tight tolerances and production efficiency.

Shifts include 1st, 2nd and 3rd with attractive hourly pay of 28–38 USD plus 15% shift differential after 3 pm. Day-one benefits, 401(k) match, PTO and tuition reimbursement are offered.

Qualifications

• CNC milling setup and operation experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
• Experience maintaining tight tolerances and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC milling machines (HMC/VMC) and ensure parts meet specs.
• Set up tooling, fixtures and offsets for production runs.
• Inspect parts with calipers, micrometers and gauges.
• Troubleshoot machining issues to minimize downtime.

Available Shifts

• 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM, plus 15% shift differential on pay
• 3rd Shift: Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 PM–7:30 AM, plus 15% shift differential on pay

They are hiring three full-time, onsite CNC Milling Machinists at their Winsted, CT facility. These Machinists will manufacture precision aerospace components using advanced CNC milling equipment, with an emphasis on quality, tight tolerances, and production efficiency.

Technical Experience & Qualifications

• CNC milling setup and operation, HMCs and VMCs
• Blueprint reading, GD&T, and engineering drawing interpretation
• Tooling selection, fixture setup, offsets, and tooling adjustments
• Precision measurement using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and indicators
• CNC controls: Fanuc, Haas, Mazatrol, Okuma, Makino, Mori Seiki, or similar
• Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and maintain tight tolerances

Additional Preferred Experience

• 4-axis and/or 5-axis machining
• CNC programming and G-code editing
• CAM software experience
• Aerospace or defense component manufacturing
• Technical machining education, trade school, or apprenticeship
