Winland Foods, Inc. is seeking a Milling Intern to gain hands-on experience in a busy milling operation in Excelsior Springs, MO. The role offers full-time summer exposure, Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm, at 1000 Italian Way, with wage of $28.00 per hour.

Under the Mill Manager, you will participate in milling expansion projects, sanitation programs, and process improvements while connecting academic coursework to real-world facility management.

Qualifications

• PowerPoint, Excel, and Word skills required.
• Ability to learn internal computer systems.
• Milling science knowledge or related coursework.

Responsabilités

• Assist with milling expansion projects.
• Assist engineering of a mill pneumatic system.
• Contribute to design of a dust control system for a flour blending facility.
• Develop and implement a Master Sanitation Program.
• Participate in expanding germ extraction and recovery systems.

A milling internship offers an opportunity to gain real-world experience in one of American Italian Pasta Company, a Winland Foods Company, Durum Mills. It is designed to expose the intern to all facets of the business with a focus on the very hands‑on aspects of technical milling and facility management. Most importantly, a milling internship allows you to distinguish yourself from your classmates as you gain a competitive advantage by connecting your milling coursework with industrial experience.
Milling interns report to the Mill Manager who is responsible for managing the milling department to attain optimum utilization of machinery, materials and labor, and to achieve optimum capacity, yields and overall cost reduction.

• Assist with the preliminary engineering of a mill pneumatic system.

• Expand germ extraction and recovery system.
• Engineer extending a flour mill break system.
• Develop and implement a Master Sanitation Program.
