Job summary

Walbec Group is seeking a Milling Foreman to oversee scheduling, crew management, milling equipment needs and repairs, and to reinforce continuous quality improvements in pulverized material gradations, milled surface uniformity and roadway ride quality across projects in the Midwest.

Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of field milling experience and prior foreman experience, along with a valid driver's license (CDL preferred).

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years milling at field level is required.
  • Prior experience as a Foreman is required.
  • Valid Driver's License is required; CDL is preferred but not required.
  • Must be punctual, dependable and able to uphold high ethical standards.
  • Able to manage multiple changing priorities and sensitive information.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with personnel scheduling and crew management.
  • Oversee milling equipment needs and maintenance/repairs.
  • Support continuous quality improvement in material gradations and ride quality.
  • Work varied hours including nights, early mornings and weekends as needed.

The Position:

We're looking for a Milling Foreman, responsible for assisting with any and all aspects of efficient personnel scheduling, crew management, overseeing milling equipment needs and repair, and reinforcement of continuous quality improvement in the area of pulverized material gradations, milled surface uniformity and roadway ride quality.

Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.

  • A CDL is desired but not necessary.

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.

  • Must be punctual, dependable and have a high ethical standard for personal and business conduct.

  • Must be self-directed and motivated; able to manage multiple conflicting and changing priorities.

  • Have the ability to be trusted with confidential information and observe anti-trust laws and regulations.

  • Have the ability to work varied hours including nights, early mornings, and weekends as needed.

  • Be able to tolerate and work in variable weather conditions, and work in dirty and dusty environments.

  • Member of the appropriate trade union or willingness to become a union member are required. Union membership is not required prior to employment. Our Human Resources Department is able to assist in that process as needed.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in milling at the field level

  • Prior experience as a Foreman.

  • Working knowledge of CMV guidelines and regulations.
