Job Summary

We are hiring an experienced Milling Foreman $30.00 to $40.00 per hour to lead our asphalt milling crew. This role is responsible for overseeing daily milling operations, including equipment setup, crew supervision, safety compliance, and ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to specification. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, extensive road milling experience, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate all activities of the milling crew
  • Set up milling equipment, signage, and traffic control measures in accordance with project and safety requirements
  • Read and interpret job specifications, plans, and grades
  • Monitor milling operations to ensure correct depth, slope, and surface preparation
  • Ensure timely mobilization, maintenance, and cleaning of milling machines and support equipment
  • Communicate daily with project managers, paving foremen, and inspectors to coordinate project needs
  • Maintain accurate daily records of labor, equipment usage, production quantities, and project progress
  • Train and mentor crew members on equipment operation, safety procedures, and work practices
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate repairs or adjustments as needed
  • Enforce all company safety policies and ensure crew compliance with DOT, OSHA, and site regulations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications / Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience operating or supervising asphalt milling equipment
  • 1-2 years of leadership experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of milling techniques, machine operation, and roadway preparation
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, grade stakes, and work orders
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
  • Comfortable working in fast‑paced, high‑traffic environments
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred
  • Ability to work long hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed
  • Must be willing to travel overnight when projects are outside the local area
