Riceland Foods is seeking a Milling Equipment Operator to safely run mill equipment, monitor panels and computers, and load trucks. The role involves cross-training in Sheller, Whitener, Control Room, and Hammermill positions to support four operations within the mill.
You may work day and night shifts with a 15% night premium for applicable hours. Starting pay is $20.00 per hour with premiums for night hours.

This position will work both day and night shift, on a swing rotation.
Hours worked from 5pm - 6am Monday – Thursday will receive a 15% shift premium.
Hours worked on from 5pm Friday – 6am Monday will receive a 15% shift premium.

This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation and monitoring of Mill Equipment, panels, and computers as needed to ensure that the rice is milled and graded according to predetermined standards set forth by Riceland, USDA, and Customer Specifications. This position is also responsible for the safe and efficient loading of trucks with by-products as needed. The Mill Equipment Operator will also cross train for all four of the positions within the Mill: Sheller, Whitener, Control Room Operator, and Hammermill. Specific duties for each position vary to the specifications of the specific position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assist Shift Miller and/or other Mill Equipment Operators with any other activities that may need assistance.
Perform daily inspections of equipment; notify management of need for repairs.
Perform light maintenance work and a variety of sanitation duties daily.
Operate forklift and heavy machinery.
Complete SA logs as required.
Recommend and implement process improvements as approved.
Perform any requests provided by Supervisor.
Required to cross-train in all Mill Equipment Operator positions: Control Room, Sheller, Whitener, and Hammermill.
Work within a team environment.
Responsible for complying with all safety rules, procedures and good manufacturing practices set forth by the company and the government.
Greet and communicate with visitors and represent the company in a professional manner.
Operate whiteners and color sorters.
Retrieve bran samples and perform inspection of those samples, fill out necessary paperwork.
Notify Miller of findings beyond specified parameters.
Ability to check and clean magnets.
Operates Hammermill; replaces screens when necessary
Inspects trucks before loading and completes bulk truck inspection report.
Receives and completes load verification form and loads correct product on truck.
Perform all computer operations related to incoming co-product trucks.
Ability to check and clean magnets.
Complete Sheller roll usage log.
Retrieve samples and perform inspection of those samples, fill out appropriate paperwork and make necessary adjustments.
Ability to check and clean magnets.
Monitor all panels and computers and react as required.
Perform all grading duties.
Must be able to distinguish colors.
Perform sanitation duties in the control room.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software.
