Job summary

Milliken & Company, located in Johnston, SC, seeks a Process Improvement Professional to lead site-wide continuous improvement initiatives. You will drive manufacturing process improvements to raise performance, quality, consistency, and cost efficiency, reporting to the Process Improvement Manager.

The role requires a strong foundation in engineering, project management, and analytical problem solving, with collaboration across Product Development and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Textile Engineering or 5+ years of leadership experience in dyeing textiles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

POSITION REPORTS TO:

Process Improvement Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW

This position is located at the Milliken Johnston Plant located in Johnston, SC and reports to the Process Improvement Manager. The position is responsible for leading continuous improvement efforts at the site. It plays a key role in the development and implementation of manufacturing process improvements that drive new performance levels, improve quality, consistency and cost.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop a thorough understanding of all factors and conditions that impact the processes and products, including environmental impacts
• Use sound project management skills to manage multiple improvement projects
• Analyze problems and implement solutions using critical thinking skills and focused improvement methods
• Incorporate creative thinking into the problem-solving approach to identify unique and different ways to make things better/more consistent/faster/cheaper/efficient
• Prepare diagrams, charts, tables to reflect findings and support recommendations
• Work closely with the Product Development area to create new samples and products
• Communicate and work effectively with a diverse group of associates to accomplish project and location goals
• Participate fully in the Safety Process

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Textile Engineering or other related Engineering field or 5 plus years of leadership experience with relevant industry experience pertaining to the dyeing of textiles. Liberal arts majors will be considered if applicable to the role.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous manufacturing experience (intern, co-op, or fulltime)
