Schools Uniting Neighborhoods (SUN) Community Schools are a school-based service delivery model that provides a comprehensive set of services to the school communities we serve. IRCO’s SUN Community Schools offer a variety of programs that support students’ education and family stability. SUN Support Staff work with the SUN Site Manager to facilitate and run extended day programs after school, including youth academic and enrichment classes, parent workshops, school events, food security programs, food pantries, and more. Programs are in-person, located at school sites around outer N/NE/SE Portland.
The SUN Extended Day Coordinator supports the work of the SUN Site Manager by providing administrative support, data entry, behavioral support in extended day classrooms, and acts as a substitute in the absence of the SUN Manager. Programs and services are offered in-person at a public school in Multnomah County.
