Job summary

Atlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a Haven Operator in North Kansas City, MO. You will oversee safe, continuous operation of mill equipment, support product quality, and ensure efficient production flow on the 2nd shift.

Responsibilities include monitoring mill processes, performing preventive maintenance, calibrating measurement tools, and maintaining production records while upholding safety policies and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in mill operation or machine operation preferred.
• Tube mill manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong math skills including decimals and fractions.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to quality.
• Clear written and verbal English communication.
• Basic computer skills to access work orders.
• Familiarity with measuring devices (tape, micrometers, calipers).
• Willingness to work overtime as required.
• Regular, full-time onsite attendance per schedule.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe and continuous operation of mill equipment.
• Monitor and control mill processes and quality checks.
• Perform preventive maintenance as needed.
• Change sizes and settings on the production line.
• Inspect tooling and report reconditioning needs.
• Troubleshoot equipment and quality issues with crew.
• Assist maintenance with mill adjustments and minor repairs.
• Direct and assist mill changeovers for smooth transitions.
• Communicate quality requirements to the mill crew.
• Maintain offline requirements to support quick-change operations.
• Calibrate micrometers at shifts and changeovers.
• Complete production records and inventory paperwork.
• Follow safety policies and regulatory guidelines.
