Job summary

Nutrius, LLC in Hereford, TX is seeking a Night Shift Mill Operator to support production of feed. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will operate mill equipment and manage batching processes.

You will handle documentation, inspections, and quality sampling, with emphasis on safety and OSHA guidelines. The role requires basic computer skills and ability to lift up to 55 pounds, with overtime as needed.

Previous feed or agricultural experience is preferred; forklift experience desirable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent work experience.
• 1–2 years’ work experience in a warehouse/industrial/production environment.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 55 pounds.
• Previous feed/agricultural experience desired.
• Basic computer skills.
• Work varying shifts including weekends, holidays and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Operate computer programmed batching system to receive and manufacture feed.
• Maintain required documentation for all departments.
• Operate process equipment including powered industrial vehicles after training.
• Assist in start-up and shutdown of operations.
• Troubleshoot processes and equipment and provide input for corrective actions.
• Perform general housekeeping of production area to meet OSHA standards and ensure a safe environment.
• Climb ladders up to 100 feet to perform maintenance and inventory duties.
• Perform sampling of inbound/outbound loads and production paperwork for quality control.
• Perform other general mill operations as assigned.

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Mill Operator will perform semi-skilled labor with regard to all aspects of mill maintenance and operations ensuring optimization of production to manufacture feed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Utilize computer programmed batching system to receive and manufacture feed
• Maintain required documentation associated with all departments
• After appropriate training, operate all process equipment including powered industrial vehicles
• Assist in start-up and shut down of operations
• Assist in the troubleshooting of processes and equipment operation and provide in-put for corrective actions
• Perform general housekeeping of production area to meet OSHA standards, as well as a clean and safe working environment
• Climb ladders up to 100 feet to perform maintenance and inventory duties
• Perform quality duties including but not limited to sampling inbound and outbound loads as well as production paperwork
• Perform necessary work as assigned in regard to general mill operations

• Perform related duties and/or special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills & Competencies:

• Methods and techniques for safe work practices
• Forklift operation and heavy machinery experience desired
• Basic recordkeeping practices

Ability to

• Perform daily safety inspections and identify safety hazards

• Perform basic mathematical problems (add, subtract, multiply, divide)

Experience and Training Guidelines

• High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent work experience
• One (1) to two (2) years’ work experience in a warehouse/industrial/production environment
• Ability to lift/carry up to 55 pounds
• Previous feed/agricultural experience desired
• Basic computer skills
• Work varying shifts including weekends, holidays and overtime
