Job summary

Contech in Greenville, MS is seeking a Mill Operator Trainee to join our plant. You will operate mill processes, move coils, and assist with setup and maintenance as part of a hands-on training program.

We offer on-the-job training, potential overtime, and a full benefits package. Strong math, organizational, and mechanical skills are essential, along with the ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Strong organizational and math skills are essential.
• Good mechanical skills and welding ability are required.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Proficiency using micrometers, calipers and measurement tools.
• Strong root cause problem solving skills.
• 2–5 years of hands-on manufacturing equipment experience.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate cranes, coil handlers or forklifts to move coil to machine area.
• Thread incoming coils through mill processes.
• Operate mill components via manual/automatic controls.
• Butt weld and grind strip ends as needed.
• Record QA measurements per Quality Manual.
• Perform equipment setup and routine maintenance on mill equipment.

Job description

We are looking for a MILL OPERATOR TRAINEE to join our Greenville, MS plant. As a Mill Operator Trainee with Contech you will contribute to America’s essential infrastructure including drainage systems, pipe, bridges and structures, and stormwater management.

About the Role

Responsibilities

• Operates overhead cranes, coil handlers or forklifts to move coil from storage to machine area.
• Threads in-coming coils through mill processes.
• Operates mill components using manual and automatic control on control panel.
• Butt welds and grinds strip ends manually.
• Performs and records all QA check measurements required by the Quality Manual on product being produced.
• Performs equipment setup, routine mechanical maintenance, and repairs to all mill process equipment.

• Must Be Able to Interpret Blueprints & Drawings
• Must Be Able to Effectively Use Micrometers, Dial Calipers, Radius Gauges & Other Measurement Devices

• 2 to 5 Years Hands-On Experience with Manufacturing Equipment Operation.
• Excellent Verbal Communication Skills.
• Willing to Gain Certification in Mill Operation and Forklift Operation, Provided by Company.
