Job summary

Ox Specialty Paper, LLC in Carthage, NY seeks a Mill Superintendent to lead production operations, ensure safety, and maintain product quality. You will supervise Production Supervisors and hourly staff, staffing decisions, and performance management while driving cost-efficient improvements.

The role requires strong leadership, papermaking process knowledge, and a commitment to developing employees. Expect on-call duties and periodic weekend work to support mill goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6+ years of supervisory or management experience in manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, process controls, and production performance measures.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including employee development, performance management, staffing, and accountability.
• Commitment to workplace safety and experience promoting safe work practices.
• Ability to analyze operational challenges, interpret performance data, establish priorities, and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, planning, decision-making, and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
• Ability to meet the position's schedule and on-call requirements.
• Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential responsibilities of this position will be considered

Responsibilities

• Lead and optimize production operations while ensuring safety and quality.
• Manage Production Supervisors and hourly staff; staffing and performance reviews.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce waste and costs.
• Monitor KPIs and report to General Manager.
• Partner with Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and production performance.
