Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Gypsum Plant in Newington is expanding and creating a MILL SUPERVISOR role to lead eight hourly employees and oversee mill operations, safety, quality, and production priorities.

You will coordinate with site leadership, maintenance, quality, reliability, and operators to plan startup, shutdowns, and runtime activities, while coaching staff to follow SOPs and achieve operational goals. This role rewards initiative and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Two or more years experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• One or more years of leadership experience.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Availability to be on-call for issue resolution.

Responsibilities

• Supervise eight hourly employees operating mill conveying, calcining, and rock handling equipment.
• Apply Principled Based Management to create a safe, productive environment with clear priorities.
• Supervise Mill Operations ensuring safety, quality, and production priorities are met.
• Coach and mentor direct reports in disciplined execution of Mill operations and equipment care.
• Coordinate with site leadership, maintenance, quality, reliability, and operators to plan startup/shutdown and runtime/outage activities.
• Oversee daily Mill operations including rock and stucco production, FGD support, recycle operations, and equipment readiness.
• Develop and revise standard procedures, housekeeping strategies, and training plans for Mill operators.
