Job summary

Morton Salt, Inc. is seeking a Mill Manager to direct and coordinate activities across the Mill operations (Pellets, Bemis, Flake & Mesh) for multiple product grades with strong emphasis on safety, quality, and efficiency.

The role requires 10+ years in manufacturing, supervisory experience, and a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, plus proficiency in SAP and MS Office to drive KPIs and budgets. This on-site leadership position supports a sustainable, team-oriented culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical degree; or 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Minimum of 10 years’ manufacturing experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ supervisor experience.
• Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Proficient in SAP (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates Mill operations across Pellets, Bemis, Flake & Mesh.
• Ensures EHS and GMP compliance and achievement of KPIs.
• Manages area budget, cost, volume, and quality.
• Oversees equipment reliability and process improvements.
• Provides leadership and supervises hourly workforce.

The Mill Manager directs and coordinates activities of the Mill (Pellets, Bemis, Flake & Mesh) of Industrial, Food grade and Pharmaceutical grade salt by performing the tasks listed below either personally or through hourly bargaining unit employees.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensures environmental, health, and safety (EHS), and General Management Practices (GMP) performance and compliance
• Accountable for the Mill Operations
• Establishes and ensures achievement of all unit key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Manages area budget/cost, volume, and quality
• Manages equipment and process reliability
• Performs other related duties, as required

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other related technical degree is strongly preferred or ten (10) plus years of relevant experience
• Minimum of ten (10) years’ manufacturing experience
• Minimum of five (5) years’ supervisor experience preferred
