Job summary

Northwest Iowa Community College is seeking a punctual operator to run a payloader at our South Feedlot in Broken Bow, Nebraska. The position follows a rotating 4-on/4-off schedule, with duties including loading, basic maintenance, and assisting with mill operations.

The ideal candidate will have mechanical aptitude, safety focus, strong communication skills, and the ability to multi-task in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Operating the pay loader in a safe manner.
• Learn Remote Control operation of the mill loader.
• Understanding the feed ingredients and proper handling techniques.
• Reporting and recording all feed audits.
• Performing basic preventative maintenance, including replacing bits and changing oils and filters.
• General cleanliness of the work area and equipment.
• Learning the operations of the mill and flaker and be a resource to run the mill and flaker on an as-needed basis.
• Assisting with repairs and maintenance on the mill and flaker.
• Assisting with general mill housekeeping and cleanliness.
• Assisting with all delivered commodities (loading and unloading).
