Job summary

Atkore in Merrillville, IN is seeking a Mill Lead Operator to manage mill setup and performance to the highest quality standards and efficiencies.Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, you will lead changeovers, operate, and maintain coatings, ensuring customer specs are met while upholding safety and core values.

You will direct a mill crew, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and coordinate with maintenance to meet production goals while embracing continuous improvement and learning.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in tube mill production at a high level.
• Safety-conscious attitude.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely and effectively operate the mill and all supporting stations from entry to bundling table.
• Lead and participate in mill changeovers, setup, and operation.
• Safely and effectively operate and maintain processes in cleaning and coatings.
• Communicate with and direct mill crew to achieve target goals, as well as support departments.
• Troubleshoot equipment, product quality, and bottleneck issues.
• Follow explicit customer specifications and ensure execution in the end product.
