Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance based on manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Proactively troubleshoot equipment issues to prevent production interruptions.
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on mill equipment, including conveyors, bucket elevators, motors, platforms, and systems.
  • Assist with ingredient picking and small-packaging operations; operate bulk receiving pits and assist with loading outbound feed.
  • Safely operate forklifts to move materials and assist with monthly inventory counts.
  • Adapt quickly to changing daily needs and execute additional tasks as requested by management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through routine housekeeping.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as needed

Job Title: Mill Equipment Maintenance/Production/Warehouse

Status: Full time

Reports to: Director of Feed Operations

Location: Sterling, OH

Position Objective: This position requires a proactive, dependable, and hands-on professional to support our feed mill operations. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual who takes pride in physical work, excels under pressure, and applies practical problem-solving to minimize equipment downtime. By maintaining high operational standards and prioritizing safety, you will directly contribute to achieving the cooperatives core mission and productivity goals.

Qualifications: Must have proven ability to identify mechanical and maintenance issues on industrial or mill equipment, ability to safely perform maintenance and repairs on elevated feed mill equipment, including bucket elevators (feed legs), conveyors, platforms, and other elevated structures. Must be comfortable working at heights and able to use required fall-protection equipment. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently, follow precise instructions, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Excellent manual dexterity, physical endurance, and hand-eye coordination is a must. Strong time-management skills with an internal drive to exceed expectations. Must be physically able to lift and carry up to pounds.

Experience: Previous industrial maintenance, repair, manufacturing, agricultural, or feed mill experience, forklift operating experience, and experience working in grain handling, feed manufacturing, or related agricultural operations.

Skills: Excellent communication skills, priority setting, time management, and strong attention to detail a must.
