Job summary

You will check coils, document findings in the ERP system, report quality issues, assist with equipment maintenance and changeovers, and keep the work area clean and safe. The job requires a HS diploma or GED and up to 1 year of pipe mill experience; overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• 1 year pipe mill experience preferred.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Employees must be able to work with a flexible schedule, which may require overtime.
• Knowledge of the manufacturing processes and overhead crane operation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate mill to supply slit coil material per run sheet.
• Check slit coils for heat and slit numbers per run order.
• Inspect slit condition and document findings in ERP system.
• Communicate quality issues to mill operator.
• Ensure machinery is properly serviced before starting up.
• Assist in repair and replacement of equipment during maintenance shutdowns.
• Communicate with crew to achieve a quality product.
• Assist in changeovers and mill stops.
• Report problems to Lead or Supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, debris-free work area and PPE compliance.
• Record production findings in ERP systems and required documents.
