Job summary

Barrett Petfood is hiring for a Mill Bulk Material Handler in Brainerd, Minnesota. You will oversee trailer tracking, load bulk ingredients, and coordinate with the operator to ensure proper ingredient delivery and paperwork accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Track trailers and inventory of the trailer lot.
• Ensure mill has bulk ingredients loaded per schedule.
• Communicate with Operator and verify pit switchover, ingredients needed, and amounts verified.
• Unload and load flour from hopper bottom trailers.
• Check seals and verify paperwork and condition of tailers.
• Take samples from front and back of hoppers.
• Move van trailers and stage in heated shed.
• Maintain inventory including FIFO.
• Clean unload bay, trucks, and trailers.
• Assist in handling bulk totes when necessary.

AVAILABLE SHIFTS:

• 2ND SHIFT Mon - Thurs 5PM - 4AM (+$3 shift differential)
• 4TH SHIFT: FRI - SUN 4AM - 4PM (+4 shift differential)

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Track trailers and inventory of the trailer lot
• Ensure Mill has bulk ingredients loaded per schedule
• Communicate with Operator and verify pit switchover, ingredients needed, and amounts verified

• Check seals and always verify paperwork and condition of tailers
• Take samples from front and back of hoppers
• Move van trailers
• Stage trailers in heated shed
• Inventory including FIFO
• Clean unload bay, trucks, and trailers
• Tote overheads out when necessary
• Assist in handling bulk totes when necessary

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the manufacturing facility.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, and perform other physical activities required in a manufacturing environment.
• Climb and descend stairs and ladders safely and routinely, including accessing elevated work areas and equipment.
• Ability to safely operate or work from a scissor lift to access elevated equipment and production areas for inspection, verification, and environmental or sanitation sampling
• Maintain balance and stability while working on elevated platforms, stairs, ladders, and uneven or wet surfaces, as applicable.
• Work in varying environmental conditions, including areas that may be hot, cold, wet, humid, noisy, or subject to temperature fluctuations.

Adaptability and the ability to work well under pressure will help you excel in our fast-paced environment, where prioritizing tasks is key to maintaining operational flow.
