Barrett Petfood in Brainerd, Minnesota is hiring a Full-Time Setup Associate. You will prepare machinery for production runs, manage materials, and operate in a safety‑focused environment on an onsite team. The role offers competitive hourly pay and multiple shifts with differential pay.

Shifts include 1st shift Mon-Thu 6AM-5PM and 4th/5th shifts with additional differential. You will work with equipment, materials, and processes in a production setting while supporting a customer‑centric

Qualifications

• Experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read and follow blend sheets and production instructions.
• Comfort working with ERP tickets and palletization processes.
• Willingness to work a physically demanding shift schedule and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Hang bulk totes and add hand adds into correct micro bins.
• Read blend sheets and ensure accurate setup of equipment.
• Operate forklift for staging bagged ingredients.
• Verify Plex tickets onto pallets for tracking and inventory.
• Scan in/out materials and ingredients as they are used.
• Use Plex tickets to unlock micro bins and fill ingredients.
• Tag bags with ingredient information and manage container movements.
• Hang bulk bags with forklift and secure packaging.

Day to day as a Setup Associate

As a new Setup Associate at Barrett Petfood, you can expect a hands‑on experience working directly with equipment, materials, and processes in our production environment. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include preparing machinery for production runs, ensuring that all setups are completed accurately and efficiently. You will work closely with team members to maintain a safe workspace while identifying any potential issues that may arise during the setup process.

AVAILABLE SCHEDULES:

1ST SHIFT MON - THURS 6AM - 5PM

4TH SHIFT FRI - SUN 4AM-4PM (+$4/HR SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL)

5TH SHIFT FRI - SUN 4PM - 4AM (+$5/HR SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Hang bulk totes & add hand adds into correct micro bins
• Read blend sheets
• Operate forklift for staging bagged ingredients
• Verify Plex (internal ERP system) tickets onto pallets
• Scan in/out materials and ingredients as they are used
• Use Plex tickets to unlock micro bins and fill ingredients
• Tag bags correctly with ingredient information
• Use Plex to split, merge, update, and move containers.
• Hang bulk bags using a forklift & tying off bulk bags
• Clean as needed

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the manufacturing facility.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, and perform other physical activities required in a manufacturing environment.
• Climb and descend stairs and ladders safely and routinely, including accessing elevated work areas and equipment.
• Ability to safely operate or work from a scissor lift to access elevated equipment and production areas for inspection, verification, and environmental or sanitation sampling
• Maintain balance and stability while working on elevated platforms, stairs, ladders, and uneven or wet surfaces, as applicable.
• Work in varying environmental conditions, including areas that may be hot, cold, wet, humid, noisy, or subject to temperature fluctuations.
