Job summary

Barrett Petfood in Brainerd, Minnesota, is seeking a Full-Time Operator for our onsite manufacturing facility. You’ll drive production, operate forklifts, and help ensure high-quality pet food for our customers.

Your day to day as an Operator

You can expect a dynamic and engaging workday in the manufacturing sector focused on pet products. Your daily responsibilities will include operating forklifts to move oils and finished goods efficiently within our production facility. You'll collaborate closely with team members to ensure the safe and effective transportation of materials, contributing directly to our customer-centric mission.

AVAILABLE SHIFTS:

2ND SHIFT MON - FRI 2PM - 1030PM (+$1.50 SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL) PER HOUR

3RD SHIFT MON - FRI 10PM - 630AM (+$3 SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL) PER HOUR

What we're looking for

You will need a combination of technical and interpersonal skills that contribute significantly to our manufacturing process. A strong focus on safety is paramount; being aware of your surroundings and adhering to safety protocols will ensure a secure environment for you and your teammates. Attention to detail is essential when moving pet products and raw materials, as accuracy can prevent costly mistakes in production. Additionally, effective communication skills are key, allowing you to collaborate efficiently with coworkers and management.

Problem-solving abilities will empower you to tackle challenges that may arise during daily operations, ensuring smooth workflow. A proactive approach to learning will set you apart; being eager to understand our processes will enhance your ability to contribute meaningfully. Finally, good physical stamina is necessary, as the role involves maneuvering a forklift and staying active throughout your shift.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the manufacturing facility.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, and perform other physical activities required in a manufacturing environment.
• Climb and descend stairs and ladders safely and routinely, including accessing elevated work areas and equipment.
• Ability to safely operate or work from a scissor lift to access elevated equipment and production areas for inspection, verification, and environmental or sanitation sampling
• Maintain balance and stability while working on elevated platforms, stairs, ladders, and uneven or wet surfaces, as applicable.
• Work in varying environmental conditions, including areas that may be hot, cold, wet, humid, noisy, or subject to temperature fluctuations.
