Job summary

Associated Milk Producers Inc. is seeking a dedicated team member for dairy plant operations in South Dakota. The role focuses on safe sampling, quality tests of raw milk, and strict adherence to PMO and GMP policies.

You will also help with equipment sanitation, basic maintenance, and accurate recordkeeping while supporting training of new staff and complying with safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to authorities.
  • This position has heightened food safety and food quality responsibilities.
  • Sampling and receiving of bulk milk; must be licensed by SDDA to sample milk.
  • Confirm quality tests on raw milk in accordance with guidelines.
  • Ensure PMO (Pasteurized Milk Ordinance) policies are followed.
  • CIP tankers, receiving lines, and storage silos.
  • Ensure all recording charts are properly documented.
  • Ability to drive trucks in and out of receiving bay.
  • Performing preventative maintenance and master sanitation tasks.
  • Keep floors, drains and pits clean.
  • Pursue continuous improvement and communicate findings.
  • Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness of work areas.
  • Maintain proper documentation in records.
  • Adhere to safety, sanitation and site policies.
  • Assist with training new employees.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with repairs or troubleshooting.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to GMP policies and reporting nonconformities.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

AMPI owns six Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American-type cheese and processed cheese is produced. The cooperative's award-winning cheese and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled cheesemakers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time:

  1. All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority.

  11. Constantly look for continuous improvement and process improvement and communicate.
  12. Maintain good housekeeping and cleanup of equipment and supplies in your work areas.
  13. Maintain proper documentation in all formats of recordkeeping
  14. Adhere to all aspects of company and customer safety, sanitation and site policies.
  15. Assists with training new employees;
  16. Provides assistance to the maintenance personnel, when needed, for machine repairs or troubleshooting;
  17. Other duties as assigned
