Job summary

Western Nevada College seeks a Military and Veteran Student Success Coordinator to advise active‑duty service members, veterans, dependents, and civilian employees. The role focuses on VA education benefits, TA, DoD tuition assistance, and program pathways.

Expect on‑site Fallon advising with occasional travel and strong collaboration across departments. You will manage MOUs with DoD/NAS Fallon, oversee veterans programs, track student progress, and support VA work‑study operations while

Qualifications

• Knowledge of TA, GI Bill Benefits, and National Guard planning/evaluation
• Data analysis and assessment to evaluate program effectiveness
• Familiarity with NSHE policies and practices
• Familiarity with WNC’s service area and demographics
• Skills in adapting quickly to changing needs

Responsibilities

• Military & Veteran Advising; primary POC for Military/VA inquiries
• Provide guidance on TA, National Guard waivers, and GI Bill processes
• Deliver comprehensive advising to Active‑Duty Military, Civilians, Veterans and Dependents
• Advise on CPL and transfer credits for course applicability
• Provide on‑site advising at Fallon Naval Air Station
• Oversee MOUs with DoD and Fallon NAS; ensure compliance
• Lead Military and Veteran student success initiatives and programs
• Develop onboarding tools and annual reporting metrics
• Coordinate with departments for implementation of new strategies
