Job summary

The University of Northern Iowa is seeking a capable advisor to coordinate student support services for military and veteran students. You will guide admissions, enrollment, financial aid, and counseling processes while mentoring center staff.

You will partner with student groups, plan events, and represent the university on community boards, contributing to student success and university engagement across the Cedar Falls area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with strong academic background.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate student support services to promote educational development and success.
• Serve as advisor and advocate for military, veteran, and affiliated students.
• Provide information on admission, enrollment, financial aid, counseling, and career processes.
• Mentor and supervise Military & Veteran Services Center student staff.
• Collaborate with student organizations on event planning and outreach.
• Represent UNI on local, state, and regional boards and committees.
