J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Military Relations Recruiter to serve as the primary liaison for SkillBridge participants, coordinating placements and onboarding from application through completion.

You will partner with Talent Acquisition, HR, military outreach, and business leaders to build a robust military talent pipeline and maximize conversions to full-time employment, while ensuring a positive participant experience.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or 2+ years of relevant education/experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2–4 years of recruiting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate SkillBridge placements by matching candidates to opportunities based on skills and goals.
  • Partner with hiring managers and HR stakeholders to identify placement opportunities.
  • Manage end-to-end placement process, onboarding timelines, and program execution.
  • Act as primary point of contact for SkillBridge participants and provide onboarding guidance.
  • Build relationships with military transition offices and veteran organizations.
  • Educate stakeholders on SkillBridge requirements, qualifications, and expectations.
  • Monitor progress and address concerns to ensure a positive participant experience.
  • Maintain records and ensure compliance with DoD SkillBridge requirements and company policies.
  • Support talent pipeline development and conversion-to-hire initiatives.
  • Track and report program performance metrics and identify improvement opportunities.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, the SkillBridge Recruiter serves as the primary liaison between transitioning service members and business units participating in the SkillBridge program. This role is responsible for identifying placement opportunities, assessing participant skills and interests, coordinating placements with hiring leaders, and ensuring a successful participant experience from application through program completion. The Specialist partners closely with Talent Acquisition personnel, other Human Resources (HR) stakeholders, military outreach partners, and business leaders to build a strong military talent pipeline and maximize conversion to full-time employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the placement of SkillBridge participants by matching candidates to business units, career pathways, and opportunities based on skills, experience, career goals, geographic preferences, and workforce needs
  • Partner with hiring managers, Talent Acquisition personnel, other HR stakeholders, and business leaders to identify placement opportunities, support participant selection decisions, and align placements with organizational objectives
  • Manage the end-to-end placement process, including candidate consultations, placement coordination, onboarding timelines, and program execution activities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for SkillBridge participants, providing guidance throughout onboarding, orientation, placement readiness, and program participation
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal stakeholders, military transition offices, veteran organizations, and other partners to support program success and participant engagement
  • Educate and advise stakeholders on SkillBridge program requirements, participant qualifications, expectations, and best practices to ensure effective program implementation
  • Monitor participant progress and engagement through regular communication with participants and business leaders, addressing concerns and facilitating issue resolution to promote a positive experience
  • Maintain accurate program records, documentation, and compliance standards, ensuring adherence to Department of Defense SkillBridge requirements, company policies, and program guidelines
  • Support military talent pipeline development by collaborating with Talent Acquisition personnel on conversion-to-hire opportunities, veteran recruitment initiatives, military hiring strategies, outreach activities, and hiring events
  • Track, analyze, and report program performance metrics, including placement outcomes, conversion rates, participant satisfaction, and business utilization, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and program effectiveness
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration/Management, Communications, Psychology, or related field OR 2+ years combination of relevant education, experience and training
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management, Communications, Psychology, or related field with 2-4 years of recruiting experience, education, and training

Compensation

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
