Job summary

Magellan Health in Helena, Montana is seeking a Personal Financial Counselor to provide comprehensive financial services to military service members and their families at military installations. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; associate degree plus 4 years of experience, or high school diploma plus 6 years of experience may be considered.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract.
• Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
• Must be able to pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Must have one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

Responsibilities

• Provide one‑on‑one counseling and consultation with commanders or other service providers.
• Conduct briefings and presentations related to financial services.
• Provide referral resources to participants outside the context of a counseling session.
• Assist service members in establishing a spending plan during extended absences.
• Develop and make available informational financial materials to service members and families.
• Coordinate, publicize, and provide Personal Financial Management classes/workshops on various topics.
• Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling or electronic modes of communication.
• Manage duty‑to‑warn situations according to Department of Defense protocol.
• Communicate with leadership and participate in supervision-sharing information on trends.
• Participate in regular training and quality improvement activities.
