Job summary

Magellan Federal, based in the Beaufort, SC area, seeks a Personal Financial Counselor to deliver comprehensive financial counseling to service members and their families on military installations. The role covers one-on-one counseling, briefings, and referrals, ensuring services align with DoD protocols.

You will educate and counsel across the military lifecycle, conduct workshops, and coordinate with installation leadership, POC, and DoD requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
• If required by contract, bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
• Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develop and provide informational financial materials for service members and families.
• Coordinate, publicize and provide Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle.
• Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication as needed.
• Manage duty to warn situations per DoD protocol.
• Communicate with leadership and participate in supervision and training.
• Participate in in-services and quality improvement activities.
• All other duties as assigned.
