Job summary

Magellan Health in Louisville, KY seeks a Personal Financial Counselor to provide comprehensive financial counseling to service members and their families at assigned military installations. Responsibilities include individual counseling, teaching classes, and coordinating with DoD and leadership to ensure DoD-appropriate services.

Position requires a Bachelor's degree, U.S. citizenship, fluent English, and 3+ years of counseling experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• May consider Associate degree plus 4 years' experience in lieu of Bachelor's.
• May consider high school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of Bachelor's.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience."Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English."
• If required by the contract, bilingual in English and Spanish."
• Must obtain a favorable adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
• Must pass the OCI disclosures process.
• Certifications AFC, CFP, or ChFC are required.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal financial counseling and management services to service members and families.
• Assists establishing spending plans for extended absences.
• Develops and provides informational financial materials for service members and families.
• Coordinates and delivers PFM classes/workshops across the military lifecycle.
• Responds to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilizes virtual counseling and secure online communications as applicable.
• Communicates with leadership and participates in supervision and review sessions.
• Participates in training, quality improvement, and contract activities.
