Job summary

Amentum in Riverdale, Utah, is seeking a packer to identify, inspect, and properly prepare a wide range of materials for storage or shipment. You will read specifications, select containers, weigh and label items, and may operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) in coordination with packing duties.

Qualifying candidates typically have a short general work history; a high school diploma or GED is required, and you must obtain an MHE license within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to obtain license to use MHE within 30 days of selection.
• Packers who process material requiring HAZMAT Certification must pass training requirements.
• Position may require travel and ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Identifies, examines, classifies, accepts, rejects, and disposes of material per DLA regulations.
• Ensures material is properly preserved/packaged/marked/labeled per Military Standards.
• Selects proper size container and cushioning to protect against damage.
• Conducts basic inspection/examination procedures for material.
• Reads specifications and photographs per DLA contract.
• May operate MHE with packing duties to load material onto/off skids and vehicles.
• Receives data from and inputs data to DSS and other systems; prepares basic reports.
• Counts, weighs, records data, applies tags/labels.
