Job summary

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is seeking an Education Coordinator II to support the Operational Readiness Initiative.

This role will instruct, evaluate and update instructional materials and Programs of Instruction, assist with course planning and execution, and support training coordination for Mountain, Cold Weather, and Dive Medicine Courses. Based at Uniformed Services University Graduate School of Nursing, the position requires mountaineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3-5 years experience required.
• Knowledge of Military mountaineering standards and AMGA standards.
• Hands-on mountaineering instruction experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a T1 Public Trust background check.
• Ability to work independently with sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Serves as Military Mountaineering SME for Mountain, Cold Weather and Dive Medicine Courses.
• Evaluates and updates all instructional materials and validates Programs of Instruction for Mountain, Cold Weather and Dive Medicine Courses.
• Works with course directors on training evaluation and validation issues and results.
• Assists course director with planning, organization, and conduct of the Mountain, Cold Weather and Dive Medicine Courses.
• Serves as the Mountain, Cold Weather and Dive Medicine Courses Military Mountaineering Primary Instructor; maintains equipment and facilities at Camp Ethan Allen Vermont; coordinates with Army Mountain Warfare School.
• Conducts and coordinates all risk management assessments for the Mountain and Cold Weather Courses.
• May perform other duties as assigned or directed by the supervisor.
