Job summary

The Iowa Army National Guard is seeking a HR ASST (MIL), GS-0203-7, restricted to current military members and located at Camp Dodge/ Johnston, Iowa. Qualifications

Education beyond 60 semester hours credited toward specialized experience. One full academic year (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.

Responsibilities

Serves as a final reviewer of actions such as accessions, promotions, transfers, and eligibility for educational or incentive benefits; handles sensitive cases that may affect career status.
Summarizes salient facts, analyzes information, outlines options, and recommends action; ensures regulatory requirements are met.
Drafts or prepares correspondence and enters data in automated systems as needed.
Provides data gathering and reporting support, including briefings and ad hoc analyses.
Acts as the primary point of contact for questions on Funeral Honors and Casualty Assistance and coordinates with families, funeral directors, and Veterans Services organizations.
