Job summary

The State of Missouri is seeking a Military Funeral Honors Coordinator to be stationed at Springfield, MO, overseeing a team and delivering funeral honors across multiple counties. The role emphasizes professionalism, training, and adherence to standards in a public setting.

You will supervise, train, and coordinate with National Guard units and Veterans Organizations, while maintaining logs and ensuring security of sensitive items. A Missouri driver’s license and honorable service are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Possess and maintain a current Missouri Driver’s License.
  • Ability to maintain a military atmosphere.
  • Current or former military service status with an Honorable Discharge.

  • Provide Military Funeral Honors support over a multi-county area.

  • Work in a public environment with professional appearance and performance at all times.

Job description

Having the ability to perform Military Funeral Honors for our fallen veterans. Receive Annual and Sick Leave along with Military Leave if currently in the Missouri National Guard or Reserves.

Job Location: This position will be located at 1400 North Fremont Avenue, Springfield, MO 65802

  • The direct supervision of Military Funeral Honors Team Leader.
  • Provide Military Funeral Honors support over a multi-county area
  • Responsible for training of subordinate workers, personnel assigned to National Guard units and Veterans Organizations.
  • Make independent decisions concerning the procedures of accomplishing each mission.
  • Operate and Maintain military weapons and their components, maintain various logs and maintain security of sensitive items.
  • Work is accomplished in a public environment that requires professional appearance and performance at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of military structure, capabilities and procedures.
  • Possess and maintain a current Missouri Driver’s License.
  • Ability to maintain a military atmosphere.
  • Current or former military service status with an Honorable Discharge.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate with professional service providers and the general public.
  • Ability to function in a high stress environment involving multi requirements.
  • Ability to establish time management procedures.
  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of office organization and management
