Job summary

The State of Missouri's Department of National Guard, Human Resources, seeks a Program Director for the Missouri Military Funeral Honors Program (MMFHP) based in Jefferson City. This role provides overall direction for the area, coordinates requests, and develops policies and SOPs for military honors.

Responsibilities include ensuring honors are provided in accordance with state and federal law, coordinating with the CAC, funeral homes, the Honor Guard, and units, and maintaining compliance with

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of military structure, capabilities, and procedures.
• Working knowledge of the principles and practices of office organization and management.
• Possess and maintain a current Missouri Driver’s License.
• Ability to manage a team and maintain a military atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all Funeral Honors are provided to Veterans and Service Members in accordance with state and federal law.
• Coordinates with the Regional Casualty Assistance Center (CAC), Funeral Home, Honor Guard, and supporting military units to ensure all requests for MFH are supported.
• Coordinates on a regional basis the fulfillment of military members to support requests for MFH ceremonies for deceased veterans. As required, coordinate Veteran Service Organization (VSO) support in the absence of the Area Coordinator.
• Ensures all Honor Guard members are in compliance with AR670-1 (Uniforms and Insignia), FM 21-20 (Physical Fitness Standard, and all other applicable regulations policies governing the Honor Guard program.
